shift a few stubborn fatty areas, it can be difficult to
get motivated and achieve results.
As well as taking traditional steps such as an exercise
regime and a healthy eating plan, recent technological
developments also offer the option of non-invasive
treatments that can help people achieve the shape they’ve
always wanted.
Ultrasound therapy is becoming an increasingly popular
way to target specific fat deposits and can offer an overall
reduction in body circumference. In many cases there
can be other added benefits such as a reduction in the
appearance of cellulite, improved skin elasticity and
increased blood flow.
Developed as a result of several years of extensive
research, BellaContour is a non-invasive patented dual-
frequency ultrasound therapy and muscle stimulator
system. According to Dr Della Bruna, BellaContour is good
for people with excess pockets of fat or for the person
looking to decrease their size and helps motivate them
towards starting a diet and exercise program.’
Sydney health and wellbeing therapist Selina Schiedel
says she has trialled numerous fat reduction devices for her
clinic and has found only BellaContour rapidly provides

BellaContour combines a number of innovative
technologies to deliver an effective ultrasound treatment.
The resulting micro-massage action generates an
acceleration of blood flow, which causes an improvement
in the structure and appearance of the layers of the skin
and its tissue. Dr Della Bruna explains, ‘It breaks up the fat
tissue but doesn’t destroy the cells; it disperses them and
allows the body to then remove them from the area over
time. It’s almost like liquefying the fat, but without actually
disrupting the cells themselves.’
The device has the ability to carry out real time
mathematical calculations to determine the best wave
frequency and intensity needed to achieve the desired
results for each individual patient.
It can be helpful for obese people who are looking for
circumferential reduction as a motivational tool or for men
and women with specific problem areas such as
gynocomastia (excess fat on men’s chests) stomach,
thighs, buttocks, upper arms and knee fat. Dr Della Bruna
says, ‘We achieved some pretty amazing results with a trial
on quite an obese woman. With only five treatments over
10 days she lost 24.5 centimetres from her torso.’
BellaContour can also be used as a sculpting tool for
people who are already quite fit and toned but want to
achieve more definition.
‘Obviously it’s not a miracle cure and you need to be
doing other things but, mentally, if you see centimetres
coming off it may encourage you,’ says Dr Della Bruna.
There are also numerous secondary advantages to
the treatment. These include the vitalisation of blood flow,
improvement of body contours, reduction of the body
circumference, increase in metabolic rate and improvement
of skin quality and tone. BellaContour can also reduce and
improve the appearance of stretch marks.
The actual treatment takes approximately 40 minutes.
The system identifies the depth, density and thickness of
the stored fat. After identifying the specific fat and cellulite
mass, the system performs a mathematical analysis to
select the best wave frequency and intensity to cause the
