Youngblood has created the Ultimate Concealer. The
concealer contains Vitamins C and E to give the skin an
antioxidant boost, allantoin to help stimulate healthy tissue,
jojoba esthers to prevent dryness and a blend of mica,
which reflects and refracts light away from imperfections. It
contains no talc so it won’t cake or dry out.
The Youngblood Concealer Brush is flat with a round tip
to achieve an undetectable covering. While some people
use concealer as a way to blend the eye area with
foundation or to highlight the eye, there are other effects
that can be achieved.
Dark circles under the eyes are concerns for many
people. The skin under the eyes is fragile, so should not be
weighed down with loads of product – sheer layering is the
best solution. Selecting a dark shade of Ultimate concealer
means it has more yellow to counteract dark shadows. The
concealer brush should be loaded with just two swipes of
product. A stippling motion should be used, starting at the
inner corner of the eye, to blend the product under the
eyelashes to fill in the dark area only. The product should
be gently pushed into the skin wiith the side of the brush,
by patting it. A feathering motion should be used to blend
out the edges so they are sheer, then rolled and pressed
again to improve adherence.
The top lid is usually darker in shade so applying the
concealer over the entire lid from lash base to brow will
lighten it effectively. This acts as a canvas to apply eye
colours. Mineral Rice Setting Powder should be pressed
on to the area and the excess swept away. Then Mineral
Loose Powder Foundation should be applied lightly over
the area and then used to finish off the entire face.
Redness often occurs around the rim of the eyes and is
sometimes associated with sensitive or fair-skinned
people. The same technique as above should be used, but
in either a medium or fair colour. The concealer should be
applied under the eyes and lashes as well as over the entire
top lid and blended well. The concealer should be lightly
blended out over the cheekbones to give the whole area a
lift. Mineral Rice Setting Powder is used before applying
mineral foundation.
Pigmentation and blemishes may occur on certain parts
of the face. Choosing an Ultimate concealer shade
between the colour of the darker and lighter area will
most effectively reduce the contrast between them.
The concealer should be blended, pressed and
feathered only in the discoloured area, making sure there is
no noticeable demarcation line. Loose Mineral Foundation
should be pressed over the area, then blended over the
rest of the face.
Concealing bruising requires a different technique,
depending on the stage it is at. For purple bruising, some
Youngblood Coral Beach lip colour or the Coral Reef
Loose Mineral Blush should be mixed with the medium
concealer to achieve a peach tone. This will counteract
blueish discolouration. This blend may need adjusting to
achieve the right tone, then applied using the same
techniques above and finishws by applying a warm-toned
loose mineral foundation over the top in a pressing motion.
