2011 Beauty Trends Forecast |

|
From hot lips to retro smoky eyes, glittery nails and bronzed-kissed complexions, 2011 is shaping up to be a beautiful year.
What are the beauty trends you should know about to get the look in 2011? This year colour plays a starring role in our palettes - whether you're popping it boldly on your mouth or as a sweep of candy-hued eye shadow. As with most years, we look to the past for inspiration with a retro chocolate smoky eye stealing the limelight.
Simple concepts rule in 2011. The more colour the better, matte and bronzed skin accessorised with fun nails and, lastly, all that glitters is gold. Choose your statement trend and run with it.

Hot lips
Bright lipstick have been making a steady comeback for several seasons and this year they're back and bigger than ever with bold orange (today's modernised red) to fuschia pink and glossy reds for glamour. Anything goes, as long as it's bright.

Bronze goddess
Warm skin is in, but not over-the-top-tanned. Work it with peachy, bronzed complexions and both bright and nude lips. Hydrated, glossy skin is crucial for this look, so invest in a good moisturiser. Ideal for masking a multitude of sins, sun-kissed skin is stylish and sexy.

Glam and glittery
Metallics and glitter are back with a wearable edge. Touches of gold, copper and glitter on eyes, lips and nails are fierce and fashion-forward. Pigments and powders applied with a wet brush work wonders.

Retro returns
The ‘60s and ‘70s are big news across fashion, hair and beauty this year. Black has been replaced with inky blues and browns to create a luxe smoky eye, while purple gave the catwalk a retro edge.
|
 |
High brow
Eye brows this year should be kept au natural this season to stay on-trend. Full and as straight in the tradition of princess Stephanie of Monaco and the 80s supermodels we knew and loved. Add texture by using a brow colour that matches your hair shade.

 |
Punchy pastels
Technicolour rainbows of sorbet shades and powerful pastels pack a serious colour punch to the eye this year. Everything from turquoise, red and green to the popular purple that has seen a comeback this year. Whatever your preference, age or look, there is a pastel to suit you. Keep them wearable by applying a wash of pastel on your lids with smudged eyeliner and keeping the rest of your makeup natural.

Nail it
Much fun to be had this season with nail art and glitter. The ‘70s trend for matching nails and lipstick is back, as are metallic finishes and glitter-dipped tips. If you're shy, work nudes, dove grays and corals.
