 Sydney was abuzz with excitement as Jane Wurwand was coming to town. It was like a great rock star or actor was about to arrive. Everywhere in the world Jane goes she is greeted with the same accolades and excitement. She filled the auditorium at NIDA and received a standing ovation every time she spoke.
Well for those few people in Sydney who do not know, she is the owner and developer of Dermalogica and also of the Dermal Institutes Internationally. Dermalogica is now the number one beauty professional range in the world. Jane started the range in 1986 after seeing a huge gap in the market for products, which could be used by all ages for the skin and that actually worked. She started her professional life as a beauty therapist even though unofficially she had worked, as a hairdresser's assistant since she was 13. She is a great advocate of good education for beauty therapists and there are dermal Institutes to be found in most countries and they offer postgraduate education to thousands of therapists world wide on a yearly basis. The Dermal Institute is not just for Dermalogica users but also for anyone in the industry. In Australia there are branches in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. She is so full of passion for the beauty industry as a whole and for the use of skin care products. She is also a working advertisement for good product use as she is in her fifties and has the flawless skin of a much younger woman. The three Dermalogica products which are her staples and she uses every day are Dermalogica Daily Exfoliant, their Special Cleansing Gel and the Total Eye Care. Of course she tries every product in her range before it goes out to the public. She has two teenage daughters who she has passed her knowledge onto and they are just as focused about good skin care as their mum. Jane feels there are some great products on the market and one, which she feels is excellent, is the Clarins Flash Balm. She is very loyal to Bobbi Brown for makeup and uses their ,eye makeps .lipsticks and blushes .They give her that very classic ,very natural but at the same time very modern look. She loves a good nail polish and at the moment her favourite is Lincoln Park After Dark by OPI. As Jane travels extensively she keeps her hair in a short coconut cut which really suits her face and is very easy to maintain as she a looks immaculately groomed at all times. To keep it styled she uses Sebastian Crude Clay . Jane always has a suitcase packed at the ready with good travel clothes-those ones, which you can pull out of a suitcase and put them straight on and they look great. For such a highly regarded person Jane was so down to earth and a really inspiring person to spend time with.
