I had the fortune of experiencing the new SpaPod, an interior-designed haven in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the Sydney department store. It's the home of the Elemis Power Booster Facials – 30 minutes to revive your day and re-energise the batteries. It's perfect for the time-poor men and women or those who want a lunch break facial.

First up, you visit the tester zone that combines anti-ageing and lifestyle skincare solutions to play with the products. Then your Elemis experience gets personal as you jump into a one-on-one consultation at the Elemis SkinLab, which includes a Facial Mapping Analysis to show you what your skin looks like both on and below the surface, and to help you understand better skin maintenance and lifestyle management. Several images show you the ugly truth, assessing your UV spots (characteristic of photo damage, typically from over exposure to sun), pores, evenness (colour variation in skin tone) and porphyrins (evidence of bacteria lodged in pores which can lead to acne). The Intelligent Massage Chair does most of the body work - the state-of-the art chair measures the length of your spine, takes your body weight, warms your body and delivers your customised massage program using a variety of massage techniques on the calves, legs, buttocks, back and neck – all while you tune out to the relaxing tunes drifting from your headphones, sigh!

My facial was the the Tri-Enzyme Resurfacing, which promises 75% resurfacing and up to 32% increased skin smoothness –designed to effectively remove the thickening layer of the epidermis.
