We all know men can be a little ignorant when it comes to noticing a new haircut, but a new study has shown they don't notice a majority of the work we put in. Women slave each day to primp and prime their appearance, and when we're not doing it, we're thinking about what improvements we can make. However, a new study shows that most men don't notice the work we put into looking our best. Find out where your efforts get unnoticed and what we spend the most time on. Whether you view this as a good thing (those who purport to wake up looking this good) or a black mark against men, a US study has revealed 65 per cent of men are unaware of how much time their partners spend on their daily beauty routines. Apparently the figures they estimate indicate that we ladies spend about 10 days a year in total if you add up the five hours the average woman spends on grooming each week. An estimated 30 per cent of men were also ignorant of the fact that their women regularly pluck hairs from their chin, paint their toenails or file their nails. ‘Most women have a regimented beauty regime they have stuck to for years and men don't realise the effort women put in on a daily basis,' Jolen Creme Bleach spokeswoman, who sponsored the 3000 participant study, says. Mind you, she did admit the reason men don't is because most women don't want to admit they put in so much effort to look good - even to their female friends. More than two-thirds of the women surveyed said they denied using beauty products or fake enhancers when a woman friend complimented them on their looks... liar liar pants on fire ladies! We all need a little help sometimes. A truthful 17 per cent revealed their family and friends would be shocked to see them au naturel - without fake tans, perfectly groomed eyebrows and hair extensions. So what are the top 10 "cheat" beauty habits? In descending order, women spend the most time on: shaving or waxing legs, plucking eyebrows, applying makeup, shaving underarms, highlighting/colouring hair, pedicures, fake tan, filing nails, waxing or shaving bikini lines and bleaching facial hair.
